Another Saturday night, another instance! My wife asked, “Do you have another play date online tonight?”
We had the whole team on task for stockades:
28 Priest – Skronk
28 Warlock – Bungholio
28 Rogue – Blintz
28 Mage – Ula
29 Warrior – Earlthecat
We had four out of five people ready to go at 10pm with 5 out of the 6 stockades quests in their log. The 6th quest, “The Fury Runs Deep,” requires that you finish “Dark Iron War” in the Wetlands, and we had not gotten around to doing that. We gave the last person a few more minutes and then, once we decided to start, he showed up.
So we got going a little late, but by 10:15pm we were in zone and slaying.
I took the “we’re done” screen shot at 10:55pm.
The combination of a small instance with a group that was both at the high end for the zone and which had worked together in the past added up to a very quick and smooth run. And even that time frame, 40 minutes, is longer than it actually took. We forgot to get the screen shot initially and had to run back to the room to take it, only to find that all the corpses had faded. So here we are hanging around the iron maidens which, along with the rack, seem to be a staple of the Stormwind Department of Corrections:
I have almost no notes for the run. There wasn’t time to take any. We slew and slew and slew. Nobody in the group died or even came close. At times we pulled 4 or 5 mobs and killed with reckless abandon. Even the last boss, Bazil Thread, turned out to be a spontaneous fight. While we were planning who to sheep, who to sap, and who to kill first for the final fight, Bazil wandered into aggro proximity of us and the battle was on… and then done in short order.
Our biggest problem was that by the time we had killed Bazil we had not collected enough red wool bandanas to complete the quest “The Color of Blood.” Fortunately, stockades respawns pretty quickly, so we were able to fight out way back and forth for a while until everybody had their 10 bandanas.
Only one rare item dropped, the skeletal club, which nobody wanted for them self. Earl won it on the roll.
After we left, we actually spent more time running down the quests we had updated than we actually spent in the stockades. However, in the case of the thread of quests that includes “The Stockades Riots,” it was worth the effort. You end up with the Seal of Wrynn, which is a very nice ring! (You ought to get a new pair of shoes as well after all the running around you have to do.)
After much running and flying, all of the quests were rounded up. It was after midnight so Ula and Bung said goodnight. Earl, Skronk, and I decided to run down the quest “The Missing Diplomat,” which gave the three of us another nice ring, Jaina’s Signet Ring, as well as pushing Skronk to level 30, Earl to nearly 31, and me to within 5% of level 30.
All in all, a profitable night, with everybody gaining at least a full level of experience.
Next week’s target is Razorfen Kraul.
