I spent some more time last night playing with the Vanguard character creation tool. I am trying to create a character that I can get into. A character I can feel good about playing.
I do not even need an outstanding character, just one I can look at and not feel embarrassed about.
The character creator isn’t a big help here. For one, why is grey hair the default option? My hair is not grey (not yet) and I have no yearning to get there. Doughy, grey haired, and apathetic should not be the starting point. Handsome, young, and virile should be the mid-point selection, and I should be able to go up (or down) from there. I am already middle-aged, I do not need a character that is also past his prime. This is, after all, the “Saga of Heroes” not the “Saga of Zeroes!”
Eventually I got to a character I could do something with. This is hardly ideal, but it is a start.
I present to you, Hervé Villechaize:
You know if I find a white suit, there will be no stopping me. Now if somebody will work on a Ricardo Montalban to group up with me, we will become a force to be reckoned with!
Tell me that’s not a human! You roll out with that and you’re just asking to be thrown through a window by a Rodger Moore-a-like!
All puts me in mind of the *hours* I spent trying to make an Oblivion character that didn’t look like they’d been hit in the face with a shovel. Great mini-game that…

Indeed! An you pointed out something to me that I forgot to mention.
Hervé here is a gnome. That is not at all obvious (to me at least) from the picture.

Technically, if Gandalf kills himself won’t the Valar just send his spirit back to corporeal form?
