EVE Online in Vegas

CCP is having an EVE Online event in Las Vegas!  Billed as a developers Meet and Greet, I gather it is something less than a full fledged FanFest, but better than an appearance at GDC in San Francisco.

The event will be at the Imperial Palace, which I would have to say is not one of the top tier hotels, but it is right there on the strip and is reasonably priced.

In addition to it becoming an EVE nerd fest, there will also be a party with free booze.  CCP parties are things of legend, so it will no doubt prove to be a memorable event.

Tickets to the event are $100.  The site with all the info is here.

If you get a chance, go have a drink at Red Square over at Mandalay Bay.  It is a bit of a walk up the strip, but is very cool.

[Addendum: The forum thread about this event is here.]

If anyone can navigate the labyrinth that is Imperial Palace, it would be EVE Online players. Although I suspect even many of them will find themselves searching for the autopilot before long.

I thought they were going to destruct the IP? If going to Mandalay also hit the Rum Jungle and Charlie Palmer’s Steak in the Four Seasons annex, after checking out the Red Square.

“Saturday Night we will be having an after party at a yet to be disclosed nightclub.”

The imagery is there folks, isn’t it.

Speaking of Mandalay Bay…if you like poker and have a decent grasp of the game, there are plenty of ‘fish’ who frequent the poker room.

I just don’t know what to think of this! Part of me says, “It’s about time CCP realized a good bit of its customer base is American”. Then again, the other part of me says, “I just might be a Geek-Enough to attend it”!

I just want to know who scheduled this event for Mother’s Day weekend here in the US, and is this going to lead to endless “your mother…” jokes?

    Hrmm, a Goon scam?

Actually, according to Massively, who put up a story about this event a good six hours after I did, this event was mentioned during the alliance tournament.

Since I heard about it from Debes, who was in the tournament, I am going to continue to think this is an actual event.
