Sam Raimi’s Warcraft Movie Production Diary

Day 75: Why is it that every time we wrap for the day, one of the extras asks me to “open a portal to Dalaran”? Is he asking for drugs?

You can find it over at Wired.

Plus, on the subject of the work of Lore Sjöberg, I am pretty sure that the third panel of this comic is completely true.

I’m still reeling over the absolute massacre of Lord of the Rings by Peter Jackson.
He made a very pretty motion picture that was so far from the original story that I had to check I was watching the right film (and again when the 2nd and 3rd ones came out).

I don’t think the Lore in WoW is quite on the scale of LoR, but I’m not holding my breath that the film will turn out to be anything other than a stinker (Dungeons and Dragons, anyone?).

It depends what lore they use. Are we talking Warcraft: Orcs and Humans lore, or are we talking WoW lore, where blood elf paladins and space goat shamans hang out together in one city dressed as power rangers waiting for the arena to start?

The collectors edition of WC3 comes with all the CGI movies from the campaign on one DVD, which while not exactly one long continuas movie, is still very watchable as a whole. If they did just that, but extend it to 90 minutes instead of 15, it would be a good movie.
