Four seems to be the magic number for our group, as we again could only assemble 80% of the group on a Saturday night. It is like we’re adults with outside interests or something.
- Jollyreaper level 51 mage
- Zahihawass level 51 cleric
- Hillmar level 52 cleric
- Gizalia level 53 mage
Anyway, a short group meant another practice night.
The Carnival of the Ascended was over, so there was no balloon raid to occupy us, so it was straight to the dungeon hunt.
We looked around on the map for another instance would could go after in Expert mode. Foul Cascade, which would be next on the list, was rejected because it is a pain to get to. That put us at King’s Breach, which is close to a portal. So we headed there and jumped in to see what we could see.

As is the norm for these posts, more after the cut so the front page isn’t loading so many screen shots.
CCP, as part of their 10 year anniversary celebrations, has a new site up about the EVE Timeline.
The site details the background story… the lore, if you will… of the game, the histories of the major factions, and how it ties in with DUST 514. The is also a dev blog post about the new site.
Unfortunately, while that is interesting in a way, it is really just the static background against which the game is played. The real interesting part of the game is the narratives created by the players, the stories that continue to make headlines in (and sometimes beyond) the gaming press.
CCP is trying to capture that as well with their True Stories initiative. But somehow, that just isn’t grabbing me. I think it is a matter of having no connection to a lot of the stories, which tend to have a small focus. Our fleet, our corp, our band of clones sort of things. They don’t resonate with me like some of the bigger tales, which often only touched me in tangential ways… I watched Burn Jita, I lost ISK in one of the grand “take the money and run” EVE bank scams, I was lagged the hell out when a giant battle was going on in the same region.
But it is all part of the layers of the game.
