EVE Online turns 20 years old this coming Saturday, and in order to celebrate CCP is kicking off a nearly month long celebration event around its usual Capsuleer Day festivities.
The celebrations include… well.., most of the usual things. But since it is a celebration of 20 years, there are more of them. For example, the daily login rewards are a 20 day stretch of goodies, including SKINs, fireworks, skill points, boosters, evermarks, and the occasional ship for those with Omega standing.
There are some nice things even if you are an Alpha clone, so it is worth logging in. (all the prizes displayed here) You can also miss a couple of days if you forget, because you have 28 days to claim all the dailies.
There are also special SKINs and bundles in the New Eden store and special packs in the web store and challenges through The Agency that you can run and a planned fireworks event at Jita 4-4 at 19:00 UTC on Saturday, May 6th, in order to mark the 20th year of the game,
CCP has even put together a short video about the 20th anniversary and all the capsuleers who have shaped its history.
I could swear I saw Baltec1 on one of the early splashes of portraits… but they are small and we do tend to look rather similar at that scale, so I could be wrong.
They also make mention of the upcoming Viridian expansion, which I posted about earlier, which was where they were hiding the Tech II capital ships mention. Way to bury the lede CCP.
And, of course, there is the EVE Online Monument. If you are an Omega subscriber on Saturday, May 6th, your name will be inscribed on the new set of plates to be put on the monument.
Oh, and there is a FREE 50,000 skill point injector in the New Eden Store, so be sure to go and grab that! (One per account.)
Anyway, this is all kicking off today… once the emergency downtime fixes a couple of issues that cropped up.
