The Tranquility Trading Consortium Decides to Stay in Business

I am going to have to make a “Tranquility Trading Consortium” tag for all of this, aren’t I?  Well, tags are free I guess.  But first, a quick review of where we stand on this whole thing.

The TTC Logo on their structures

Back on June 14th, CCP announced that XL structures, which are Keepstars and Sotiyos, would no longer be allowed in high security space.  The Imperium withdrew from the TTC the next day, which then caused Vily to announce that the TTC would be disbanded and that all structures save for the ones the Imperium owned in Domain would be unanchored.

Then there was the whole “blowing up of the Keepstar” to get through, after which the Imperium made their Sotiyo their war headquarters for their declaration or war against the TTC, which PanFam and Fraternity blew up, taking the Imperium out of any high sec actions with against the TTC for two weeks.  All of this was covered in greater detail, including links to supporting information, in these previous posts:

With no threat from the Imperium, which really just wanted to blow up the Keepstar, Vily had his cover to unanchor the rest of the TTC structures and finish up the TTC’s business as he said he would.  The Sotiyos were no longer being reinforced, he could have completed his stated task.

Of course, that is not what happened.  Instead there was a new announcement on the TTC Discord server regarding the status of TTC, posted up by Vily at 7:08am my time on July 1, which read as follows:

TTT Announcement.

With the End of the Tranquility Trading Keepstar, the Tranquility trading Consortium will now undergo change.

With the failure of the Imperium to defend their highsec war base the dynamic of highsec shifts from one of likely destruction to one of warfare and then control. While our original plan had assumed the death of all structures, their failure to achieve their stated goals creates opportunities. From this point onward the former perimeter and New Caldari facilities will act as both market hubs AND production facilities. Offering a premier location for traders to move their plex with no tax. The name of the Tranquility Production Center has thus been Adjusted to the Tranquility Trading Center.

The new TTT will be a more partisan effort to begin, operating primarily from the strength of the two northern Blocs who exist closely to the Forge space. Over time operations are planned to pass from myself to various trusted managers within these organizations that will enable maximum asset safety balanced against operational realities. My expectation is that over time, these organizations will identify what new honest partners they wish to work with to ensure tranquil waters and I will ensure your assets will always remain safe.
It is reasonable to assume that The Imperium will grow upset over this and try again, but until such time as they do and then suceed we will operate as the premier trading and production location for the forge.

To clarify our structure statuses.

The structures in Iyen-Oursta aside from the Sotiyo will all likely be unanchored over the course of the next month or two or die. The Sotiyo will remain a production facility until such time as it dies, as always planned.

The Structures in Perimeter will operate as beacons of free trade for the galaxy. While I will ensure that those assets will never go abandoned, it’s important to remember that usage of these facilities now carries some inherent risk. We will also possibly add a fortizar to represent a secondary trading location at a later date.

The structures in New Caldari will continue as well, enabling producers and traders to the best of their ability.

The old TTT is dead, but in the end our operations in highsec will continue. Because why not? We were always the best.

We are now in the part of the space drama where everybody reframes their intentions I guess.

The TTC structures in Perimeter will now stay up and they may even add a Fortizar as a long term market structure.  Now one has to asks who will be the beneficiaries of the TTC should it go back into full market competition mode, with taxes set so that it makes money?

Pandemic Horde never left, so they will get ISK from it.  So far as I can tell, the remains of TEST alliance never left, so may still get something out of it.  And Fraternity, which declared it was leaving the TTC after the Imperium did, is back in for a share of the profits according to Gobbins.  So it has turned into the PAPI Trading Consortium just like that.

As for the “risk” their structures carry, the Imperium will be able to declare war against the TTC again on July 10.  Will we be headed to high sec again to shoot structures?

Seems to me that there will be more to this story. I don’t see how the Imperium can let them make lots of isk uncontested. They will either have to shoot structures until the TTT gives up, or set up a competing infrastructure.

Either way I would expect a lot of shooting to take place… which is honestly more entertaining than the previous status quo.

@Archey – EVE Online is one of those games where few stories have a real start or ending… rather like real life. There are big events, but they rarely ever end a story, even if the story is less notable as it goes on.
