Two Months of Destruction in EVE Online

A video showing ship kills in EVE Online over a two month period this year.

You cannot really see much viewing the movie here, so go look at it on YouTube at this link.

At full screen you can get a sense of the activity going on in the game every day.

This was put together by one of the GARPA team, the Goon data analysis group, as an adjunct to the data mining they do to keep intel and tools up to date.  All the data was collected from public APIs and killboards.

GARPA, Hard at Work

From the video description:

Big kills covers anything with an estimated in game value of 5billion isk or more, the conversion to real world prices is an estimate based on PLEX pricing and works out to about $40 per Billion isk. That means that several kills are valued at thousands of dollars.

Fun stuff!

That was a really cool video. I thought it interesting in the comments at youtibe that the reason most kills were frighters was the 5B threshold, but that if they dropped it to 1B instead that it was a vertiable plethora of carriers and dreadnaughts dominating the kill lists instead.

Definitely a ton of stuff going on in Eve all the time.
