The little counter down at the bottom right hand side of the page rolled over into six figures today.
In fact, I just caught it ready to roll over this morning:
That is 100,000 page views in 11 months, to the day, of blogging.
I do try to not worry about traffic on the site. It should not matter. Generally every post I write is directed at a specific, small group of people. Often it is just one person. Often that one person is me and the post is merely to fix some event in time, to keep alive some bit of trivia that I may have shared with perhaps five people, or to recall some goofy bit of humor that occurred to me in game.
On the other hand, basic male competitiveness along with my usual desire to dissect, examine, and measure everything makes me check the site statistics daily…
…fine, I hit the refresh button constantly when I am at the computer and I record my daily traffic in a spreadsheet so I can analyze it.
(And no, when I am logged in to see stats, my own page views do not count, so I am not inflating my own numbers.)
While my target audience is generally very small, it is always gratifying to have other people come along and find what I have to say interesting enough to read and comment on.
So thank you to everybody who has come to visit and who keeps coming back.
